Synopsis: A dissertation of approximately 13,000 words based on individual research, supervised by a member of staff with expertise in the proposed area of research, on one aspect of Italian language, literature or civilisation. It is expected that students will choose the topic as early as possible and begin during the summer vacation. An outline of at least 500 words must be submitted by 1 May, and a first draft of 5000 words by the beginning of second semester. The dissertation, written in Italian, should be submitted by 1 November.
