INM1115Beginning Indonesian, part 1(ART)
Paul Thomas 6 points + 1-hour lecture, three 1-hour practicals and 1-hour tutorial per week + First semester + Gippsland and off-campus + off-campus students are required to attend a weekend school or consult the subject adviser. Synopsis: The primary focus is on the communication skills required for use in an Indonesian or Australian setting. Lectures cover a broad introduction to the culture and geography of Indonesia as well as an introduction to strategies and skills required in learning a language. Practicals deal with the introduction and application of basic communication tasks with an emphasis on numeracy skills and immediate needs. Assessment: Oral presentation (10 minutes): 25% + Cultural journal (1000 words): 15% + Short tasks (500 words): 10% Examination (2 hours): 50% |
