Synopsis: Introduction to discrete event and continuous process systems modelling and simulation: Simulation paradigms and techniques. Commercial modellers and packages. Boundary definition. Model specifications. Data collection and presentation. Model definition and development. Debugging tools and techniques. Industrial experimentation: statistical design and analysis of experiments, correlation and regression analysis, multiple linear regression, accelerated experiments and ANOVA. Reporting of results.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Assignment: 30%
