4 points + 6 seminar hours, 38 project hours + Second semester + Caulfield + Prerequisite: IND1332

Synopsis: Working in close collaboration with an experienced researcher, the student is part of a small team that undertakes individual and team-based research assignments. Individual exercises develop the attitudes and investigative skills necessary to constructively critique published work while team exercises in the form of selected research topics develop collaboration and co-operation in the research effort. Formal reporting and presentation of results in a research seminar is undertaken with oral defence of research findings, conclusions and recommendations.

Assessment: Continuous assessment: 45% + Final report: 40% + Prototype: 15%
