6 points + 5 studio hours and 7 independent study hours per week + First semester + Caulfield + Prerequisites: IDE1102

Synopsis: Design methodology and practice; communication techniques and presentation skills. Exercises in the design of simple products intended for batch production. A functionalist interpretation of form based on the product design specification and analytical methodology, assists students to present, conceive, develop and select product concepts and ideas which satisfy project criteria.

Assessment: Folio presentation of assigned projects: 100%
