IAR2201Building construction and materials A(A&D)
6 points + 4 hours in class and 8 independent study hours per week + First semester + Caulfield Synopsis: Students are introduced to the principles of small scale architectural and interior construction and their application in interiors. Topics include incorporation of services, structure, materials, basic material science, construction methods and systems. The subject includes lectures, tutorials and construction methods, the major materials used in small scale construction and interiors, and commerical building sites. Assessment: Examination: 35% + Project: 50% + Tutorial presentations: 15% |
