HFE4071Ergonomic intervention(SCI) Offered subject to final approval Dr Jim Phillips 12 points + 2 hours per week + First Semester + Distance + Students must attend 15 hours of on-campus weekend school seminars + Prerequisites: HFE4041, HFE4031 Synopsis: This advanced unit allows students to build upon and apply their knowledge of ergonomic principles. This unit consists of an ergonomic intervention conducted under supervision in an approved area. Students will identify a problem requiring an ergonomic intervention, perform an evaluation, and where necessary prepare an ethics application to be submitted for approval to the relevant university ethics committee. Students will then monitor and assess the efficacy of the intervention, and submit a minor thesis based upon the intervention. The laboratory component will consist of seminars in which students present their proposed interventions and outcomes. Assessment: Minor thesis (10,000 words): 80% + Seminar presentation: 20% |
