GSC3304

Paradigms of practice

(ART)

Karen Crinall

12 points + Second semester + Distance + Prerequisites: GSC3306 or permission from Head of School

Synopsis: This subject offers a critical examination of social welfare practice across the different modes of intervention - individual and family, group, community, organisation and policy. Whilst the lower level subjects have separated the study of these different foci of intervention, this subject presents an integrated view of social welfare practice through the examination of particular practice theories and their derivation from broader social theories. Students are encouraged to pursue recent and relevant readings according to their chosen theoretical perspectives.

Assessment: Two integrative theoretical assignments (4500 words): 100%
