Interpretation and meaning in sociology

6 points + 2 hours per week + Second semester + Gippsland and distance + Prerequisites: GSC1201, GSC1202 and two second-level sociology subjects. It is highly recommended that students should have completed GSC1601 and GSC1602

Synopsis: The subject explores the interpretive theoretical and research traditions in sociology which criticise modify, and respond to positivistic and naturalistic theory and method.

Assessment: Article review (2000 words): 45% + Essay (2500 words): 55%
