Synopsis: The role of radio and television news and current affairs in society. The production of meaning by news construction and editing. News production and journalism field work in radio and television.

Assessment: Conversion of stories written in print style to a style suitable for broadcast; the conduct of interviews suitable for broadcast; the maintenance of a journal of listening to and watching and critical analysis of radio and television news and current affairs programs watched and listened to during the semester; the production of the scripts of a radio and television news story; the production of the scripts for a radio and a television current affairs story
