John Solas 6 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Gippsland, distance Synopsis: This subject provides an introduction to the theory and practice of community development in urban, rural and remote areas. Modern and postmodern conceptualizations of the purpose, nature and meaning of community and development are critically examined. Particular attention is paid to the knowledge, role, tactics of community development workers. On campus students undertaking the subject will, under supervision of the subject adviser, have an opportunity to collaborate on an approved community development project.
