Synopsis: Component 1 Continuation of first semester; further development of speaking and writing skills in German. Component 2: An examination of the cultural and social history of the German-speaking world from the End of World War II to the present day through lectures and selected readings, along with an introduction into the basics of text analysis.

Assessment: Written (1500 words): 40% + Examinations (2 hours): 60%
