C Weller 6 points + 5 hours per week + First semester + Berwick + Prohibitions: GRN1115, GRN1215, GRN1315, GRN1415, GRN1515, GRN1615 Synopsis: With increasing globalisation of both business and culture, it is becoming more important that students learn skills necessary to become intercultural mediators, foremost among these being the knowledge of another language and culture. [Š] Component 1: A German language course with a communicative focus. Students will work through a range of topics related to tourism and hospitality. Students will analyse and produce a variety of types of discourse. Component 2: German social and cultural history from the eighteenth century to the First World War.
