FRN3515French Studies Year 3 Level 5A(ART)
Patrick Durel 6 points + 4 hours per week + first semester + Clayton + Prerequisite: FRN2420 Synopsis: Through homework prepared under guidance and class tutorials, this subject will help students to refine their written and oral proficiency in the areas of exposition and argumentation. A series of lectures combined with analytical work on selected documents will allow students to develop a critical awareness of some of the main socio-cultural issues in the French-speaking world. The subject constitutes an excellent preparation for the DALF exam (B1 & B2 units), a prerequisite when seeking entry to most postgraduate courses in French universities and applying for French government scholarships. Assessment: 2 take-home assignments (1900 words): 30% + 2 class assignments (1200 words): 30% + one oral presentation: 15% + 1 hour final exam (1000 words): 25% |
