EXM0003Exercise and gender(MED)
Professor D Healy 6 points + Semester 2 + MMC, Clayton + off campus distributed learning Synopsis: Scientifically validated health benefits and risks of exercise in the fields of women's and men's health. Students gain a comprehensive knowledge of the influence of exercise on male and female fertility, pregnancy and fetal health as well as bone mineral density. Exercise as a risk for and a treatment for urinary incontinence is also covered. In addition, students will understand how to apply this knowledge and prescribe exercise for women's and men's health. Assessment: Journal report + Case studies + Project report: 60% + Discussion paper (2000 to 3000 words): 40% |
