ETF2911Quantitative techniques and software applications for management(BUS) Not offered in 2002 Mr Tissa Galagedera 6 points + 2-hour lecture and 1-hour microlab per week + Second semester + Caulfield + Prerequisite: ETX1640 or ETX1100 Synopsis: Introduction to the principles of operations research and its application, using computer software packages, to typical managerial problems; linear programming applications such as the optimisation of a distribution network will be demonstrated; the principles and application of simulation to manufacturing; advanced forecasting methods as applicable in management.
