Modern English Literature: Modernism and Postmodernism

Synopsis: This subject will attempt to identify some of the chief trends in modern English literature in English, concentrating on the period from 1900 to 1945. The central figures of high modernism will be studied within their cultural and historical context.

Assessment: Class presentation (1000 words): 20% + Essay (1500 words): 30% + Examination (2 hours): 40% + Seminar participation: 10%
