Advanced Practicum 2

Synopsis: The unit requires students to subject their practice to systematic analysis and reflection over an extended period. During the practicum students will examine, document and extend their practice via a process of action-research. The practicum will be completed in association with a university supervisor, but will involve collaboration with other students who are also doing the advanced practicum. Students will support each other in regular small group meetings and gain experience in mentoring. An important part of the practicum experience will be developing the ability to capture and communicate their practice to other teachers.

Assessment: A written paper to publishable standard and the production and oral defense of a portfolio. The portfolio items, will include a case, the paper and other items that support the claims made in the defense. This unit will be assessed as Pass Grade Only.
