EDF5480Methods and practice of teaching Visual Arts 2A(EDU) Proposed to be offered next in 2002 Ms J Rosewarne- Foster 6 points + 3 hours per week + First semester + Gippsland (off campus)/ Clayton (on campus) + Prerequisites: Two full years of study in visual art at tertiary level Synopsis: This unit will provide an introduction to teaching and curriculum in art appreciation, history and theory. Particular emphasis is placed upon the study of contemporary Australian art in the secondary school visual arts curriculum. Students will be required to design and demonstrate lessons in aspects of art appreciation and art history at a range of levels in the secondary school. Assessment: Minor research project:20% + Study guides:30% + School experience file (not graded) Successful completion of supervised school experience 50% |
