EDF5444Methods and practice of teaching studies of society and environment A(EDU) Proposed to be offered next in 2002 Ms L Tudball (Clayton) Assoc Prof T Taylor (Gippsland) 6 points + 3 hours per week or equivalent + First semester + Clayton (on-campus)/Gippsland (off-campus) + Prerequisites: Students should have a major - or two minor studies in the social science/humanities fields. Synopsis: This unit develops understanding of effective teaching and learning in SOSE through studies of various practices including discipline based and integrated curriculum models. Students study local, national and international curriculum guidelines. Students will develop skills in varied methodologies and study construction of courses, evaluation, assessment and reporting. Assessment: (On-campus students) :Two assignments (2,000 words equivalent): 75% class participation: 25% + An 80% attendance requirement is required so students can fully participate in the workshops. (Off-campus students): Three assignments (4,000 words equivalent) |
