EDF5430Methods and practice of teaching accounting & business management A(EDU) Proposed to be offered next in 2002 Ms A Forsyth 6 points + 3 hours per week + First semester + Clayton (on-campus) + Prerequisites: A minor sequence (two years of study) in Accounting or Business Studies/Business Management from a recognised institution Synopsis: This unit is an introduction to the relationships between learning and teaching Accounting and Business Management at the post-compulsory levels as well as Commerce and Business related units at the 7-10 levels. Teaching strategies and contexts for use in Accounting and Business related classes in Years 7 to 12 will be explored. Methods for assessing and monitoring students will be introduced. The relationship between Accounting, Business Management, technology and society will be a focus. Assessment: Assignments: 50%, Resources file: 30%, Class activities: 20% + Student participation in the unit is vital and an 80% attendance requirement is required so students can fully participate in the workshops + Teaching practice also forms a major part of the assessment of EDF5430 and EDF5431 and students must complete at least 45 days teaching practice (50 for double degree students) and gain a rating of satisfactory for the teaching practice. |
