Theories relating to the influences of genetic and environmental factors on development. Topics include the development of language; the role of play in children0s overall development; attachment theories and separation anxiety; parenting styles and their implications; motivation theories and their application in developing children0s programs; the development of children0s perception of self; the development of locus of control in young children and an introduction to children with special needs.
