EDF5403Program development and implementation(EDU) Not offered in 2001 Lecturer in Charge: TBA 6 points + 3 hours per week + Second semester + Peninsula Synopsis: The application of curriculum and child development theory to the design, implementation and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs for children's services. Includes child observation; making programs responsive to the needs of babies, toddlers, special needs children and children over five; the role of parents and the community in program design; the role of a nurturing environment in quality children's services; the utilisation of routines and transitions to enhance children's development; the gender inclusive curriculum; cultural/racial equality and incorporation of language, mathematics, science, technology and the expressive arts in children's services programs. Assessment: Written (3000 words): 50% + Examination: 50% |
