Synopsis: Preparation for teaching of music in post-primary schools. Current issues in class music teaching. Methodologies, content, resources and music education principles such as those of Orff, Kodaly, Dalcroze, Schafer and Swanwick. Issues including aural development, classroom composition, music technology, mixed ensembles, and strategies for music listening. The music curriculum for the upper years of schooling.

Assessment: Music teaching program (2000 words plus musical examples): 100%
