12 points + 3 hours per week + Full-year + Clayton + Prerequisites: Major in English, or major in linguistics together with a minor in English + Corequisite: EDF5215+ Students wishing to enrol should consult with the director of GradDipEd studies

Synopsis: Advanced study of recent research in literacy and literature teaching; the theory and practice of teaching drama; different classroom settings which encourage children to develop as effective language-users, different teaching approaches and programs and how they can be planned to cater for children at different stages of development with different language needs.

Assessment: Research report: 50% + Curriculum package (3000 words): 50%
