EDF4907Practicum studies C(EDU)
Ms J Flack 6 points + 2 hours per week plus ten days school experience + First semester + Peninsula Synopsis: This subject will enable students to examine their own beliefs about and experiences in education as a basis by which to explore views about teaching and learning in the primary school and the varied functions it serves within contemporary society. It will relate this examination to a range of theoretical influences on education and go on to consider possible future directions at the classroom and whole school levels. Strategies teachers use in curriculum planning, classroom management and curriculum delivery, assessment and evaluation of children's learning, and reporting children's learning will be examined. Assessment: Assessment: Pass Grade Only (PGO). Students satisfactorily completing the associated field work program + Students maintaining a satisfactory 'Notes of lessons' folder + Students satisfactorily developing and maintaining a Professional Portfolio + 80% attendance in on-campus lecture and workshop sessions. |
