6 points + 2 hours per week plus ten days school experience + First semester + Peninsula

Synopsis: Extended classroom experiences relating to students0 major academic strand and practicum experiences. Examples of appropriate experience include units of instruction in specific primary curriculum areas (computers, music, physical education), assisting children with special needs (both high and low achievers), working in specialised areas in the school (libraries, after-school programs and so on). The subject introduces students to the specialisation areas in schools and the way schools respond to the specific needs of students and their communities.

Assessment: Assessment: Pass Grade Only (PGO). Students satisfactorily completing the associated field work program + Students maintaining a satisfactory 'Notes of lessons' folder + Students satisfactorily developing and maintaining a Professional Portfolio + 80% attendance in on-campus lecture and workshop sessions.
