6 points + 2 hours per week + Second semester + Peninsula

Synopsis: An examination of the social, political and economic contexts which influence and impact on Australian families, using Bronfenbrenner0s ecological systems theory as the theoretical framework. The links between the macro, micro and chrono systems and their importance for family and child well-being, cohesiveness and stability. The professional0s response to family diversity. Students broaden their perspective on professional involvement with families through a case study of a community service which supports families.

Assessment: Written assignment (2500 words): 60% + Literature Review (1500 words): 40% + Hurdle requirement: Eighty percent attendance for lectures and tutorials
