EDF3230Computer Programming with HTML(EDU) Not offered in 2001 Dr G Russell 6 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Peninsula Synopsis: This subject is designed to provide students with a practical and theoretical introduction to computer programming using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), together with an understanding of the ways in which HTML can be used in schools and other educational contexts. Students will be taught the fundamentals of programming in HTML, including writing and testing a range of tags, the use of graphics, the application of Java Applets and Javascript, and elements of web page style. Students will develop a web site which is written in HTML. A heavy emphasis will be placed on the practical aspects of programming and its utility for educational contexts. Assessment: Assignment (approx 5000 words equivalent): 50% + Examination (2 hours): 50% |
