Children's Literature: issues and analysis

6 points + 2 hours per week + Second semester + Peninsula

Synopsis: Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have a knowledge and appreciation of the features of a wide range of children's literature suitable for primary-aged children; the ability to critically analyse children's texts to determine their appropriateness for primary-aged children; and demonstrated an awareness of current issues relating to selecting and presenting literature to young children.

Assessment: Folio (2000 words): 40%, Written assignment (3000 words): 40%, and Presentation (10 minutes): 20%
