Economic evaluation in health care

6 points + Clayton, distance + 12 hours per week + Second semester (study period 4)

Synopsis: This subject introduces students to techniques of microeconomic appraisal in the evaluation of health care programs. It considers conceptual and methodological issues, as well as the practical conduct, and review, of such studies and their use in priority setting within the health care sector. The application of decision rules for economic efficiency in health program evaluation and their influence on policy decisions are introduced.

Assessment: Two assignments (2000 words each): 50% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
