Contemporary economic issues in global commerce

6 points + On-campus: one 2-hour lecture and one 1-hour tutorial per week, plus 9 hours of independent study, Berwick, Gippsland, Peninsula + Distance, approximately 12 hours of independent study per week + Fist semester + Prerequisites: ECW1101, ECW1102, or equivalent

Synopsis: Topics covered in the subject will include commerce integration, trade and investment flows, international competitiveness and inter-country development levels. Special emphasis will be given where appropriate to significant changes in global commerce such as the introduction of the Euro by the European Economic Community and urgent contemporary problems carrying international economic implications similar to the Asian financial crisis and its related economic consequences.

Assessment: Assignment work: 30% + Examination (3 hours): 70%
