F Crusca 4 points + 26 lectures, 26 hours of tutorial and laboratory classes + Second semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: ECE3301 or ECS3331 + Prohibitions: ECS4333, ECE5303, ELE4232 Synopsis: Linear multivariable systems theory; Kalman's decomposition of the state-space. Optimal control of multivariable systems: linear quadratic regulator; algebraic Riccati equation; frequency-domain implications of optimality. Stability theory. Robust control of multivariable systems: H-infinity norm; representations of model uncertainity; linear fractional transformations; multivariable stability margin. Computer-aided control systems analysis and design. Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Laboratory and assignment work: 30% |
