DTS2450Contemporary Drama(ART)
Sue Tweg 6 points + 2.5 hours per week + Second semester + Clayton + Prohibitions: ENH2450, ENH3450, DTS3450 + Prerequisites: A first year sequence in Drama and Theatre Studies. Synopsis: This course investigates a range of contemporary playtexts such as 'Waiting for Godot', 'Cloud Nine', 'Stolen' and 'The Birthday Party'. The subject also covers performance processes, such as theatre audiences and theories of directing and acting and discuss ideas about popular culture, gender, bodies and interculturalism. Workshops will focus on making, analysing and theorising theatre. Assessment: Tutorial/workshop participation: 20% + Short essay (1500 words) or short devised performance (equiv 1500 words): 30% + Long essay (3000 words) or final performance: 50% |
