CTM0002Qualitative research methods responsive to culture(MED) Proposed to be offered next in 2002 Dr P LeVine 6 points + 12 hours per week + Semester 1 (taught in block form) + MMC Clayton and/or approved off-campus sites Synopsis: In addition to cultural data, researchers in the mental health field require methods by which they can access consumers of services and make use of participant observer data. Major areas to be covered include: Providing students with: an overview of qualitative methodologies and how they interface with quantitative work, and the challenge of getting closer to approximating reality via qualitative research methods that are culturally responsive.
