CRH1006Counselling for rural practitioners(MED)
Mr J Hovel 6 points + off campus distributed learning + First semester + Second semester Synopsis: Provides a broad overview of the theories and practices which underpin modern counselling. Strand 1 focuses on techniques of counselling including; basic attending and relationship skills; information gathering; getting client commitment to change; planning for and monitoring change. Strand 2 focuses on a range of theories about factors underlying the development of dysfunctional patterns of living and treatment of such difficulties, including theories about personality; therapeutic models; recommended client groups; research findings.
