Synopsis: An introduction to agents and concept of agency and then explores in more depth the mobile agent paradigm. The subject continues with the comparison of different mobile agent systems. Within this context, the relevant application domains such as electronic commerce will be analysed. Finally, the issues in mobile agent communications, for example high level protocols such as Contract Net Protocol, or Auction, and nature of agent communication languages in general will be covered.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours) 60% + Project 40%
