CPE2003Analysis & design of distributed information systems(IT)
Professor Phillip Steele 6 points + 4 hours per week + First and summer semesters + Peninsula, distance education + Prerequisites: CPE1006 Synopsis: The information system development process and system development methodologies.The role of abstraction, models and modeling techniques in system development methodologies. Abstraction techniques - classification, instantiation, aggregation, generalization and association. System development methodology stages and deliverables - project initiation and planning, conceptualization, analysis and model refinement, system build, system implementation, system evaluation. The object-oriented modeling paradigm - classes and objects, object structure and behavior, object relationships, object properties - encapsulation, identity, attributes and operations, polymorphism. Assessment: Class Participation 15% + Practical Assignment 25% + Examination (3 hours) 60% |
