CLS2000Introduction to Critical Theory(ART)
Kevin Hart 6 points + 1 lecture each week, 1 seminar of 1.5 hours each week + First semester + Clayton campus + Pre-requisites: A first year sequence in English or Comparative Literature (not Cultural Studies) Synopsis: This subject will investigate twentieth-century critical theory in both its phenomenological and semiotic traditions. Specific attention will be given to the works of Roland Barthes, Harold Bloom, Maurice Blanchot, Jacques Derrida and Martin Heidegger. Assessment: Two essays each of 2250 words : (50% + 50%), the second of which will be written under examination conditions. |
