S Greaves and R J Keller 6 points + 24 lectures, 24 tutorials/computer workshops + Second semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: CIV2281, CIV2261 + Prohibitions: CIV4282 and CIV3161 or CVE3111 and CVE4181 Synopsis: Introduce fundamentals and role of road engineering theory and practice and related water engineering topics. Examine a number of issues related to the planning, design and construction of rural roads, including; road planning, the road traffic environment, design parameters, flood estimation, bridge and waterway hydraulics, design form, road geometric design, road construction and road environment safety.
