Interfacial phenomena

Synopsis: Topics include solid and liquid suspensions in gases, emulsions, colloids, behaviour of solid surfaces in contact with electrolyte solutions; electrode surfaces, surface potential and nucleation and crystal growth. The importance of surfaces in kinetics, in catalysis and in mass transfer operations will be highlighted.

Assessment: Examination: 80% + Assignments: 20%
