4 points + 2 lectures per week and 3 plant visits + Second semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: VCE Chemistry 3/4 or ENG1701

Synopsis: Application of chemical principles in the petroleum, petrochemical, mineral, pulp and paper, food and other renewable resource industries. Occupational health and safety. Introduction to technical safety. Waste treatment and the environment. Energy conservation in the process industries. Visits will be made to three process plants.

Assessment: Examinations: 55% + Plant visit reports: 45%
