Business applications of neural networks

6 points + 2-hour lecture and 1-hour tutorial per week + First and summer semesters + Clayton

Synopsis: This subject teaches students about the use of intelligent techniques such as neural networks and datamining for finding useful information and patterns buried in data. An emphasis is placed on practical business applications, and commercial software is used. Applications include marketing, finance, operations management, character recognition and data mining.

Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 50% + Practical work (assignment): 30% + Mid-semester test: 20% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the subject
