BUS4570Computer models for business decisions(IT)
R J Willis (summer) and J M Betts (first semester) 6 points + 2-hour lecture and 1-hour tutorial per week + First and summer semesters + Clayton Synopsis: Principles, techniques and applications of computer models in business and industry. Topics include, project management, Monte Carlo simulation, forecasting, service levels and inventory control, financial modelling and other decision analysis tools. Each topic is illustrated with user-friendly applications and spreadsheet models for use on a personal computer. Students use the computer models to carry out sensitivity analyses for a range of different inputs/outputs. Assessment: Written (case study): 30% + Examination (2 hours): 70% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the subject |
