Business applications of neural networks

6 points + One 2 hour lecture and one 1-hour tutorial per week + First and summer semester, Clayton

Synopsis: This subject teaches students about the use of intelligent techniques such as neural network and data mining for finding useful information and patterns buried in data. An emphasis is placed on practical business applications, and commercial software is used. Applications include marketing, finance, operations mangement, character recognition and data mining.

Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 50% + Practical work (assignments): 30% + Mid-semester test: 20% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the subject.
