BUS3640Tourism and service industry systems(IT)
A Parr 6 points + One 2-hour lecture and one 1-hour tutorial per week + First semester, Clayton Synopsis: The focus is on the components of service industries and their information requirements. Case studies include tourist and medical systems. Special reference is given to the opportunities and system deficits of particular service industries. The subject includes the fundamentals of qualitative systems such as expert systems and expert system software. A practical programming assignment using an expert system is used to place the above material in context. Assessment: Assignment (practical work): 30% + Examination (2 hours): 70%. + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the subject. |
