R L Martin 6 points + One 2-hour lecture and one 1-hour tutorial per week + First and second semester, Clayton + Second semester, Malaysia + Second semester, South Africa Synopsis: Operations management in manufacturing and service organisations. Topics include financial calculations, an introduction to computer software systems in a management context, production planning and control, materials requirements planning, project management, just-in-time systems and the ISO9000 standards. Different types of organisations and their business strategies. Assessment: Assignments: 20% + Examination (2 hours): 80% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the subject. |
