Advanced behavioural neuroscience

Associate Professor Stephen Robinson and Dr Nellie Georgiou-Karistianis

48 points + Full Year + Clayton + Average of 4 hours seminar and 8 hours private study per week in semester one; 12 hours per week private study in semester two

Synopsis: Students enrolled in BNS4000 will be required to undertake a major research project in an area of behavioural neuroscience. Since this subject is intended for students not wishing to gain registration as a psychologist it is a non-accredited APS sequence. Students will gain specialized research skills and an advanced understanding in an area of behavioural neuroscience. BNS4000 will be administered through the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Science.

Assessment: Thesis: 65% + Literature review: 15% + Ethics exam: 5% + Research design and analysis assignment: 10% + Oral presentation of thesis: 5% + Hurdle requirement: attendance of fortnightly Behavioural Neuroscience colloquia in the Department of Psychology.
