BND2011Nutritional physiology(MED)
Dr R. Young (Physiology) 6 points + 6 hours per week (lectures and practical) + 6 hours private study + First semester + Prerequisites: BMS1052, BMS1021, BMS1011 + Prohibitions: BMS2031, PHY2011, PHY2021, PHY2032 Synopsis: This subject provides the framework for an understanding of the functioning of whole organ systems and the whole body, as distinct from the functioning of individual cells acquired in first year of the degree. The specific topics to be covered include the function of gastrointrestinal, renal, cardiovascular, respiratory and endocrine systems. The subject will be presented through the involvement of students in lectures, practical classes and assignments. Assessment: Examination: 50% + Assignments: 20% + Continuous by reports and tests: 30% |
