ATM5000Strategic tourism(ART) Proposed to be offered next in 2002 Jeff Jarvis 8 or 12 points + 2-hour seminar per week + Second semester + Clayton Synopsis: Strategic management concepts and their suitability to the tourism industry; the strategic role and activities of government authorities; a review of the tourism industry in each region of Australia, identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats faced by each state; a review of the alterations to international and domestic visitation patterns; an assessment of the impact of strategic shifts in the international environment in which the industry operates; analysis of the emergence and development of specific market segments.
